As a pilot, Jason passed away doing what he loved and now he has his heavenly wings. A resident of Amite, he passed from this life on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, in St. Mary Parish. He was born Jan. 14, 1972, in Hammond and was 40 years of age. He was a pilot for Chet Morrison Contractors. He is survived by his wife, Karol Prine McKean, Amite; daughter, Kaleigh Marie McKean, Amite; son, Jacob Matthew McKean, Amite; parents, Jim and Glenda McKean, Greensburg; four sisters, Lisa McKean King and her husband, David, Colemantown, Patricia Bartkowiak and her husband, David, Magnolia, Texas, Beckie McKean, Splendora, Texas, Betty Turner and her husband, Tommy, Magnolia; two brothers, Roy McKean and his wife, Jan, Conroe, Texas, and Tommy McKean, Colmesneil, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Kathleen Prine, Kentwood; sister-in-law, Dondi Rhodus, Hammond; two brothers-in-law, Kerry Prine and his wife, Mikki, McComb, Miss., and Daniel Prine, Hammond; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Jim M. "Jimmy" McKean III. He was 61, a native of Slidell and a resident of Kentwood. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Cemetery, Slidell, conducted by the Rev. Curtis Mixon. Survived by his wife, Ralphadean M.
