She was born on July 16, 1909, in Centreville, Mississippi, daughter of the late Moffett H. and Mary Eliza Helmer Owens. Surviving are her daughter, Carrie Aleen McKey Cole, great-granddaughters, Jamie Leigh Cole, Sarah Pierre, Hannah Fuhrmann, Nikki Fuhrmann, and a great-great-granddaughter, Alexis Pierre. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ralph McKey, grandson, Kenny Wayne Cole Jr., sisters, Annette Collier, Johnnie McCearley, Emma Furey, Bea Balliviero, and Frances Whetstone, brothers, Laurence "Buddy" Owens, Winfred Owens, and D.G. Owens. Friends will be received on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm and on Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. He was a native of Centreville, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge and Prairieville for many years, and currently Springfield. He was loved by his wife, children, family and friends. Dale was an ASC Certified mechanic and Manager of Allied Tires of Hammond for many years. He loved doing his job and enjoyed spending time on Blood River with his many friends and family. Dale leaves behind his loving wife, Kathleen Bigner McKey; three daughters, Amanda McKey, Alivia McKey and Elaina Prine; three sons, Robby Dale McKey, II, Devin Biossat and Tommy Locicero; a sister, Debra Newman and husband Earl; two brothers, Clifford McKey, Jr. and wife Janice and Joseph Jackson, Jr. and wife Kim and eight grandchildren, Chandler and Michael, Tristan, Trinity and Trenton, Zoey, Trace and Gavin; 4 nephews, 4 nieces; and his childrenŐs mothers Karen Gee and Dawn Lejeune. Preceding Dale in death were his parents, Margaret Jackson and Clifford McKey, Sr. and nephew, Blade Jackson.
