She was born on Wednesday, May 14, 1947, in Hammond, Louisiana, daughter of the late Ivison and Pansy Needham McKinney. Surviving are her husband, David L. Floyd Lee "Baby" McLain Sr., 88, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Ochsner Medical Center of Baton Rouge. A native of Robert, he was raised in Ponchatoula and a resident of Denham Springs. He was a lay minister with the Church of God, Denham Springs, a position which he loved dearly. He served and defended our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his two daughters, Eugenia "Jeannie" Mathis and her husband, "Country" Johnny Mathis, of Nashville, Tenn., Carolyn Achord and her husband, Shelby Achord, of Walker; two sons, Floyd McLain Jr. and his wife, Barbara Rowland McLain, of Denham Springs, and Kenneth McLain and his wife, Kelly Lambert McLain, of Prairieville; son-in-law, Richard Stout, of Prairieville; four nephews, Norwood Smith and Pete Turnage, both of Hammond, Kenneth Crockett, of Loranger, and Earl Johnson, of New Port Richey, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grand- children.
