He was 58, a native of Independence and a resident of White Castle. Visiting at St. Paul Catholic Church, Bayou Goula, from 5 p.m. to wake services beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial in the church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Sarah Dennis McSwain; two daughters, Tabitha Stewart of Baton Rouge and Diedre Kenner of Atlanta; son, Kirk Scott of White Castle; two sisters, Rachel Butler and Doris Banks of Independence; seven grandchildren, an aunt and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was a native of Ponchatoula, LA. and a resident of Beaumont, Texas before retiring to Perry, GA. Born November 10, 1934, in Maurepas, LA. She was the youngest of three children and the only daughter of the late Joseph and Odessa (Sanchez) Pinion. She is survived by her husband Rudolph C. McSwain of Perry, GA; two older brothers, Rogers Pinion and wife Beverly of Ponchatoula, LA and Durald Pinion and wife Jean of Hammond, LA. She is also survived by her eight children and their spouses: Judy & Ray Byrd of Heber Springs, AR, Keith & Carmen Gray of Beaumont, TX, Vicky & Don Geotsell of Beaumont, TX, Michael & Melissa Gray of Beaumont, TX, Glenn & Cindy Gray of Heber Springs, Ar., Colleen Wilson of Lufkin, TX, Timothy & Lisa Gray of Pasadena, CA and Jack Gray, Jr. of Beaumont, TX. A beloved mother of eight children, grandmother of twenty and the great-grandmother of nine, she still made time for others by serving in many civic and social clubs and enjoyed an active lifestyle as an avid gardener, golfer and bowler. She was a walking angel, loved by all who knew her and she sparkled like the jewels of a crown (Zech. 9:16). Visitation and services are scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, LA from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 PM to be officiated by Timothy Gray. Interment will immediately follow at Parklawn Cemetery in Ponchatoula, LA.
