McVAY, CHARLES SR. 
Charles McVay Sr., 69, died Thursday, May 2, 2002. He is survived by his
wife, Bobbie Haynes of Hammond; three daughters, Barbara Norton, Betty 
Evans and Carolyn Taylor, all of Hammond; two sons, Micheal and Carl Evans
and Charles Blunt, all of Hammond; two sisters, Sara Thomas, Leola "Betty"
Johnson, both of Hammond; his mother, Irene Selders McVay of Hammond; 18
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
father and one son, Matthew McVay. Visitation will be Thursday at
Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev. John W. Burris
Sr. will conduct the funeral Friday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Church of
Christ Holiness, Hammond. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond.

McVAY, IRENE SELDERS
Irene Selders McVay, 91, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at North Oaks Medical
Center, Hammond. She was a native of Clinton. She is survived by two
daughters, Leola "Betty" Johnson and Sarah Thomas, both of Hammond; 10
grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bytha R. McVay; son, Charles
McVay, four brothers and five sisters. Visitation will be Friday at
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Hammond, from 4 to 9 p.m. The Rev.
Willie Gable will conduct the funeral Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will be 
in Greenlawn Cemetery. N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond, will be in charge.
