MEAD, ERNEST J.
Ernest J. Bead, 68, succumbed Monday of a heart attack at his home on the
Hammond-Amite highway.  Services were Wednesday at Grace Memorial Episcopal
church; interment was in Grace cemetery.  He was born in Waterloo, Iowa;
moved to Geneva, Ill.; graduated Beloit College, Beloit, Wisc.  He studied
forestry at Ann Arbor, Mich.; in 1941 he was assistant state forester in
New Orleans and later transferred to Hammond.  He is survived by his widow,
the former Della Richards; one daughter, Mrs. Earl Judd of Batavia, Ill.;
two step-daughters, Mrs. Claude Morgan of Alexandria and Mrs. Albert
McMullen of Houston, Tex.; one brother, Leonard C. Mead of Geneva, Ill.
