He was 72 and a native of Stratton, Miss. Visitation at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, Hammond, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Paul Bailey. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Betty Foster Meador, Hammond; two daughters, Gwen Meador Myers, Hammond, and Elizabeth "Boo" Meador Sullivan, Mandeville; a son, Charles Timothy Meador, Murphy, S.C.; a sister, Joan Crenshaw, Newton, Miss.; a brother, Donald Meador, Pearl, Miss.; and five grandchildren, Ward Pevey, William Myers, Megan Sullivan, Lindsey Meador and Logan Sullivan. Preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mary Payne Meador. He was a member of Louisiana Bookman's Association and Louisiana High School Athletic Association, and an original member of the S Club at Southeastern Louisiana University. Survivors include her parents, Naomi Bubrig Meador of Covington, and Bruce K. Meador of Cayuga, Texas; two sisters, Gretchen Byerts of Houston, Mary Smith of Jackson, Miss.; and niece, Kathryn Byerts. Meador was a former resident of Hammond. She worked as secretary to Buddy Billips. A memorial Mass was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington. Interment was at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, Inc., Covington was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
