MEDUNA, FRANK WILLIAM, JR. 
A native of New Orleans, he died at 10:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at
his home in Amite. He was 79, a retired staff sergeant in the U.S. Marine
Corps, a recipient of the Purple Heart and a member of the Marine Corps
League, Jans F. Hursey Detachment 748, Slidell. Visitation at McKneely
Funeral Home, Amite, from 11 a.m. Friday until religious service at 1 p.m.,
conducted by the Rev. David Cutrer. Interment in Arcola-Roseland Cemetery.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Leah and Craig Mellin, St.
Paul, Minn., and Sandra and Patric Darvie, Slidell; grandson, Patric Darvie
III, Slidell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his
wife, Blanche Lawrence Meduna; and parents, Frank William Meduna Sr. and
