MERRELL, MARGARET R.
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret R. Merrell, 91, who passed away Saturday
at Wiginton Memorial Hospital, were held Sunday from the Thomas Funeral
Home.  Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery.  She was born in Galesburg,
Knox County, Ill. on October 22, 1863.  She moved to Vernon County, Mo.
with her parents and later taught school near Moundville, Mo.  In 1885 she
married William Boyd Merrell of Waynetown, Ind., who preceded her in death
in 1947.  To this union, six children were born, four of whom are still
living.  After their marriage they lived in Waynestown, Ind. and moved to
Hammond in 1917.  She is survived by one son, H. B. Merrell of Niles,
Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Mills of Poplarville, Miss., Mrs. Agnes
Horne and Mrs. Ellen Hugo, both of Hammond; 6 grandchildren and 12 great,
grandchildren.
