She was a former resident of Oxford, Miss., and a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, Charleston, Miss. She is survived by five daughters, Josephine Stevens of Sardis, Miss., Stella Dean White of Thaxton, Miss., Avis Lee Whitt of Clarksdale, Miss., Agnes Mae Holloway of Water Valley, Miss., and Winnie Cyr of Ponchatoula; three sons, John Milam of Oxford, Miss., Thomas Dudley Milam of Denton, Texas, and Robert Wesley Milam of Batesville, Miss.; 28 grandchildren, 43 great-granchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Milam. The funeral was today at Waller Funeral Home Chapel, Oxford, Miss. Burial was in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery, Paynes, Miss. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 1/21/2010 MILAM, MARY VALENTINI Mary Valentini Milam, 92, a resident of Zachary, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Lane Regional Medical Center, Zachary. Mary was born in Novilara, Italy. She was one of six siblings, who along with her parents and spouse, Walter Stack Milam, predeceased her. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the Rite of Christian Burial at 7 p.m., conducted by Deacon Bruno Rizzo. Graveside service will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Pineville, on Friday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. She is survived by a daughter, Juanita "Babe" Milam, a resident of Hammond Developmental Center. Pallbearers will be Gene Milam, Walter Milam, Dustan Milam, Ken Klicker, Jason Milam and Justan Hood. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Valentini and Kenneth Deshene.
