He was a native of Hastings, Neb., a former resident of Farmington, N.M., and Longton, Kan., and a resident of Greensburg. He was 86. Born July 2, 1905, she was a native of Amite and a former resident of Houston for 33 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. A longtime member of the Houston Saengerbund Club, she was also a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Preceded in death by her husband, Wallace G. Mills; two sisters, Arline Nordstrom and Madeline Darouse; three brothers, Charles, Bobby and Willie Williams; a son-in-law, Howard Jelks; and grandson, Dale Jelks. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Tommy Akins, Houston, and Doris Jelks, Zachary; six grandchildren and spouses, Tommy Akins Jr., Zapata, Texas, Laura and Don Bratcher, Magnolia, Texas, Thad Akins, Houston, Melinda and Bobby Olinde, New Roads, and Denise and Doug Gray and Jim and Kim Jelks, all of Zachary; seven great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Smith, Clint and Danielle Gray, Kristi Jelks and Alicia and Garrett Jelks; and a great- great-granddaughter, Kira Hoop.
