Richmond, Va. - Laura O. "Lou" Monger, 53, died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at her home following a brief illness. She was a native of Nuremburg, Germany. She graduated from Radford University in 1971 and was a longtime dedicated educator who taught elementary school at Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Paul's Parochial Schools in the Richmond, Va., area. For the past 14 years, she taught kindergarten at Glen Allen Elementary School in Henrico County. She was a parishioner at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart where she served as Eucharistic minister. She was past president of the K Cettes, the auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus and was currently serving as president of the Richmond Alumni Chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. She is survived by her husband, Gary Monger, Richmond, Va.; one son, Christopher Monger of Richmond, Va.; her mother, May Ordoyne of Hammond; one brother, Philip Ordoyne of Hammond; two sisters, Susan McNamara of Arlington Heights, Ill.; and Lisa Custer of Annapolis, Md. She was preceded in death by her father, Lucien P. Ordoyne. Visitation will be today at Bliley Funeral Home, Richmond, Va., from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Richmond, Va. at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond, P.O.
