He is survived by his wife, Debra Taylor Montgomery of Robert Louisiana, his brother Holt Montgomery of Oxford Mississippi, two sisters Frances Montgomery of McComb, Mississippi, Paula Montgomery of Pensacola, Florida, three step children, one step-grandchild, and numerous friends and relatives. Richard was born January 8, 1943 in Laurel, Mississipi to Mary Blount Montgomery and F.H. ŇDickÓ Montgomery. He attended Gardiner High School in Laurel,, Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tennessee, and Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi, before enlisting in the Navy and serving on board The Prairie and The Canberra during the Viet Nam War. For many years he has been a resident of Robert, Louisiana where he pursued his love of airplanes and of flying. He was a quiet man, a good and loving husband and brother and a loyal friend. He is already sorely missed by his numerous friends and relatives. There will be a memorial service in McComb, Mississippi on June 15th at the home of his niece Nancy O'Rourke.
