Lena Zumo Moore, born Feb. 24, 1924, passed away at age 85 on Friday, May 15, 2009. She was a beloved wife, mother, grand- mother and great-grandmother known for her kind and gentle manner. Lena is survived by her husband of 66 years, Henry Carmon Moore Sr. She is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Carmon and SuEllan Moore, of Hammond, and Will and Gwen Moore, of Baton Rouge. Maggie Belle Moore, affectionately known as Miss Belle, went home to be with her master on Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. Miss Belle was born in Tangipahoa Parish on March 10, 1910. She was a Louisiana Southern Baptist Missionary for many years. She served the Lord for most of her life by teaching children in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, leading Bible studies, helping feed many people in her community and sharing her faith in Christ at Flannery Oaks Guest House where she was a resident. She was a nurse as well. Miss Belle was a longtime member of Weller Avenue Baptist Church and in her later years, was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church and Zoar Baptist Church.
