She was 87, born Nov. 16, 1918, in Kentwood. She was the daughter of the late Walter Mixon and the late Marcia Leach Mixon. Surviving are two daughters, Frances Dorsa and Marcia Easley; three sons, Johnny, Anthony and Benny Moschitta; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Edith Mixon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Moschitta Sr.; three sisters, Annie Rodriguez and Ida and Ruth Mixon; five brothers, Joe, George, John, Charlie and Sherman "Speck" Mixon. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Friday, July 21, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Rose is survived by two sons, Joseph Moschitta Jr. and Benny and his wife, Marie Marchese Moshitta; two daughters, Frances Moschitta Siragusa and Rose Ann Moschitta Haritos; seven grandchildren, Rosemarie M. Graziano, Paula M. Simmons, Gina S. Morantine, Steven Moschitta, Sal Siragusa Jr., Toni Moschitta, and Artie Haritos; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great- grandchildren; a brother, Antonio Alfano; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Chula; mother and stepfather, Frances Latino Chula Alfano and Pasquale Alfano; her husband, Joseph Moschitta Sr.; son, Anthony Moschitta and his wife, Barbara Buxton Moschitta; two sons-in-law, Sal Siragusa Sr. and Arthur Haritos; three sisters, Anna Castenado, Josephine Guardalabena, and Virginia Rieffel; a brother, Johnny Chula; a stepsister, Margaret Alfano Tinnerello; a stepbrother, Leon Alfano. She will be sadly missed and will remain in all our hearts forever.
