J. D. Mosley, 84, a native of Cleveland, MS, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at his daughter's residence in Brandon. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 am Friday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Rev. Darrin Mechling will officiate. Mr. Mosley was a proud WW II Army Veteran having served in India and after his discharge from the military, he lived in Cleveland and Vicksburg. He then moved to Hammond, LA where he managed Kentucky Fried Chicken for over twenty five years. Upon his retirement, he and his wife Jean moved to Pearl, MS to be near his family and they attended Park Place Baptist Church. Mr. Mosley was the son of James Hubert and Lee Mosley. He is survived by his wife, Jean Lynn Mosley; children, Diane Catrett, Donna Hoffman and husband Jay, Deborah Wolf and husband Steve; grandchildren, Toby Catrett, Susan Catrett, Tony Pekich, Desirae Johnston, Justin Knight, Melanie Handy, Stephanie Wolf and Allison Wolf; fourteen great grandchildren; brothers, Haley, Earl Robert and Raburn; sisters, Lorene Steadman, Lavelle Robinson, Pearl Hutchinson and Doris Andrews. J. D. was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Cliff Mosley and sister, Leatrice Mosley. Upon his request his body was donated to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for medical research. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star: 1/8/2010 MOSLEY, TOMMY GLENN Tommy Glenn Mosley, 74 years old of Tickfaw, Louisiana, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010, in North Oaks Medical Center. He was born on Saturday, August 24, 1935, in Blytheville, Arkansas, son of the late Sylvester Mosley and Martha Mosley. He was a retired Bookkeeper. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Peggy Lloyd Mosley; daughter, Lana Mosley; grandchild, Melissa Ballio; two sisters, Mary Alquist, and Clara Hawkins; and a brother, Norman Mosley. A son, Glenn Alan Mosley and two brothers, Hershel and Russell Mosley, precede him in death. Relatives and friends of the family will gather at the cemetery for a 2 p.m. graveside service on Sunday, January 10, 2010. Graveside services will be held at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Sunday, January 10, 2010, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Pete Charpentier officiating. Interment will follow.
