MUELLER, ALVIN JOSEPH 
Alvin Joseph "A.J." Mueller, passed away peacefully while surrounded by
family and his faithful companion Cherie in his home on Saturday, August 1,
2009, at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary
Fibrosis.  A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, A.J. had been a resident of
the Birmingham area for over nineteen years.  A.J. is survived by his
beloved wife of over forty years, Margaret Mueller; son, Troy Mueller and
wife Sandy Moy of South Riding, Virginia; daughters Tina Badely and husband
Robert of Ocala, Florida; Gina Williams and husband Matthew of Mandeville,
Louisiana; and Chantel Shamsuddin and husband Asif of Birmingham, Alabama.
A.J. was blessed with eleven grandchildren: Allison, Jonathan, and
Elizabeth Badely; Collin, Madison, and Julian Williams; Alexander and
Nicholas Mueller; and Hayel, Maliah, and Gibran Shamsuddin.  A.J. was also
survived by his parents, Donald and Elizabeth Mueller of Hammond,
Louisiana, and sister, Pamela Flynn of Folsom, Louisiana.  A.J. touched the
hearts of many and will be sadly missed by countless friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at
Johns-Ridoutıs Funeral Home, 2116 University Blvd, Birmingham, AL. In lieu
of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The
Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (http://pulmonaryfibrosis.org/gifts.htm).
