MURPHREE, BETTY JEAN LEONARD
Independence - Betty Jean Leonard Murphree, 62, died today, July 30, 2001,
at her home. She was a native of Independence. She is survived by her
husband, Crawford K. Murphree; two sons, Charles and Michael Murphree, both
of Pumpkin Center; one stepson, Gerald Murphree of Dallas; her mother,
Lelia Thompson of Independence; her stepfather, Lawrence Thompson of
Independence; two sisters, Gloria Coslan and Oneda Kinchen, both of
Independence; one brother, Donny Pittman of Independence; and three grand-
children. She was preceded in death by her father, Hulen Leonard; and two
sisters, Patsy McCarroll and Yvone Martin. The Rev. Gloria Coslan will
conduct a memorial service Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Mount Zion New
Beginning Church, Albany. Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, is in
charge.
