A native of Ponchatoula, he was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was a royal ambassador leader and Sunday School teacher. He attended South- eastern Louisiana University, Hammond, and the University of Rhode Island. He was owner and president of Meadowbrook Realty of North Kingstown and a member of the Multiple Listing Service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a former president of the 5th Quarter Club at URI and a member of the Ram Athletic Association. He was a member and past master of Charity Lodge 23, F&AM, in Charleston. He was also a member of the York Rite, council and chapter; the Scottish Rite, consistory; and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Massasoit Forest 91. He was a licensed helicopter pilot. Survivors include his wife, Maryann Krusis Murray of New Jersey; a son, Adam J. Murray of East Greenwich; his parents, Elmer and Iris Gill Murray of Ponchatoula; and a brother, Terry B.
