She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Ponchatoula the past 34 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church,Catholic Daughters Of The Americas Court Mater Dei #868 in New Orleans, Rosary Altar Society, Willing Workers Homemakers Club, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #47 in Ponchatoula, and National Association Retired Federal Employee Chapter 1482 in Covington. Mrs. Murtagh was retired from the U.S. Civil Service. She is survived by nieces, Ruth Rolling, Hammond, Marsha Barnes (Glenn), Jessie Cox (Bobby) and Margo Randall all of Ponchatoula, Brenda Rolling of Indiana; nephew, Edward S Rolling, IV (Mildred) of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Betty Vining and Marvin & Patsy Berteau. She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. "Tony" Murtagh; parents, Edard J. Jr and Rita Langlois Rolling; two brothers and spouses, Edward J. Rolling, III (Violet), Earl F. Rolling (Merretta); niece, Norma Harper; nephew, Earl F. Rolling, Jr. Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. Visitation will continue on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula, from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. A rosary will be said on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Ponchatoula Cemetery.
