She was born on September 30, 1946, in Independence. Surviving are her mother, Doris C. Narretto; 3 brothers, John V. Narretto Jr. and wife Sharon, William A. Narretto and wife Connie, and Dennis O. Narretto; sister, Colleen N. Schaerer; 4 nephews; 3 nieces; 3 great-nephews; and 8 great-nieces. She is preceded in death by her father, John Vernon Narretto Sr.; grandparents, Willie and Ethel Narretto and Gilbert and Myrtis Carrier. Friends will be received Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, from 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, June 3, 2010, from 8:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Narretto Cemetery in Loranger. Doris leaves behind her three sons, John Vernon Narretto, Jr. and wife Sharon of Amite, William A. Narretto and wife Connie of Loranger, Dennis O. Narretto of Hammond; one daughter, Colleen Narretto Schaerer of Loranger, along with seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her four brothers, Louis, Rodney, Olin and Gary Carrier all of Bogalusa; four sisters, Velma Graham of Bogalusa, Shirley Pittman of Foxworth MS, Ollie Smith of Lucedale MS and JoAnn Mitchell of Bogalusa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Doris in death were her husband, John V. Narretto, Sr.; daughter, Barbara Doris Narretto; parents, Gilbert and Myrtis Carrier; two brothers, Elbert and Sidney Carrier. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the religious services from Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Sunday, November 28th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and again on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service time. HATTON Loranger News - Mr. Merrill Williamson of Missouri, and Mrs. LaVerne Manuel and Mrs. Hazel Savage, both of California, were called home by the illness and death of their mother, Mrs. Hatton Narretto.
