He was 64 and a native of New Orleans. Memorial services at First United Methodist Church, Ponchatoula, at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Friends and guests will be received in the church fellowship hall after the service. Survived by his wife, Eva Henderson Navard, Ponchatoula; a daughter, Sharon Navard, West Trenton, N.J.; a son, Andrew Navard, Slidell; and two grandchildren, Alexandra and Elizabeth Navard. Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Rachel McInnis Navard. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ponchatoula, an active member of Kairos Prison Ministry and Louisiana Methodist Cursillo and active in the Wesley Foundation Ministry at Southeastern Louisiana University. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lear Navard Memorial Kairos Prison Ministry Scholarship Fund, P.O.
