A retired instrument engineer with Dow Chemical USA and a native and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at home Monday, Nov. 21, 2011. He was 70 and an Air Force veteran. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Friday, Nov. 25, was from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Catholic Church will be Saturday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. celebrated by the Rev. Monsignor Robert Berggreen, with a visitation starting at 9 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn Courville Nezat; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Troy McCullen, of Baton Rouge; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly Wayne and Andrea Nezat, of New Orleans; daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Gary Stringer, of Baton Rouge; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judi and Dave Garrett, of Forth Worth, Texas, and Loretta and Mike Brocato, of Patterson; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, David and Toni Nezat, of Hammond, Tommy and Melicie Nezat, of Lakeland, Fla., and Kenny Roy Nezat, of Connecticut; and 10 grandchildren, Ian and Isabella Nezat, Simon and Natalia Stringer, John Patrick, Katherine, James Henry and Christopher McCullen and Sophie and Augusten Nezat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Rosemary Moreau Nezat. Jerry was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and a Missionaries of Charity co-worker.
