She was 72 and a native of Hammond. Visiting at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Smoke Bend on Thursday, July 14, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Phil Spano, celebrant. Entombment in Ascension Catholic Mausoleum. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Marvin Gros Sr. of Donaldsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Barbara Nichols of Donaldsonville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Bessie A. Morris of Donaldsonville and Nell and Don Hingle of Baton Rouge; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Carroll and Loretta Aucoin and Harold and Gail Aucoin, all of Donaldsonville, and James and Theresa Aucoin of Paincourtville; two grandchildren, Chad Nichols and Casey Gros; and great-grandchild, Cade Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ano and Nellie Capello Aucoin; and two brothers, Willie and N.J. Aucoin. She was a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was a retired teacher from Donaldsonville High School and served with Donaldsonville recreation for 40 years. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Glenn Schexnayder and Hospice of Baton Rouge for their professional care of Ms. Annie and comfort to the family. He was a native Pike County, Miss. He is survived by his wife, Vera Nichols of Kentwood; five sons, Raymond Nichols of New Orleans, Michael, Donald Ray and Brandon Nichols, all of Kentwood, and Eugene Nichols of Ft.
