Robert Charles "Peanut" Nicks Jr., 49, of Hammond died on Monday, June 29, 2009. Nicks was a member of the Greenfield Missionary Baptist Church male chorus and mass choir, serving as drummer for the past 25 years. His occupation was fork lift operator. He is survived by his wife, Carmella Richardson Nicks, father, Robert Parker of Los Angeles, Calif., mother Betty Nicks of Hammond, sisters Sharonne Guillard of Pittsburgh, PA, Michelle Player of Houston, Texas, Tanjua Carter and Jackie Gibson of Hammond, and Yolanda Farmer of Memphis, Tenn. He is also survived by his daughter LaShante Pines Sims of Hammond, two sons, Robert Charles Nicks Jr. of Okinawa, Japan, and Toren Carter of Oklahoma City, OK. He was also step-father to Ashley Johnson, Amber Jacob and Carey Jacob, all of Hammond. He was proceeded in death by Charles and Annie Nicks and Johnny Parker and Dorothy Dans. His funeral service will be held for 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Greenfield Missionary Baptist Church.
