He was a native of Indiana and former president and CEO of Nixon Newspapers Inc. He was also the publisher of the Frankfort Times in 1986 and later formed a video and multi-media business in South Bend. He returned to NNI in 1994 as the director of technology for the corporation and served as general manager for company properties in Wabash and Miami counties. Involved with the Honeywell Center and Honeywell Foundation, he also had served on the Honeywell Circle's board of directors since its inception in 1998. He was a private pilot. Survivors include his wife, Diana Smith Nixon of Wabash; his sons, Timothy Storm and Stephen Honeywell Nixon of Wabash; his daughter Elizabeth Endsley Nixon, of Wabash; his father, John R. Nixon, Peru, In.; his brother, Dr. Chris Nixon of Peru, Ind.; and his sisters, Lynn Balkenbush of Englewood, Colo., Carol Nixon of Arvada, Colo., and Sue King of Loveland, Colo. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wabash Presbyter-ian Church. The Rev. John Ritchie will conduct the service at 11 a.m. Memorials to The Nixon Children's Education Fund in care of the Wabash Presbyterian Church are preferred. A native of Independence, she was a clinical nurse and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Survivors include her son, Ike Long Jr. of Independence; two sisters, Linda Faye Dennis and Mildred Bates, both of New Orleans; and her mother, Dorothy Anderson Bates of Independence. She was preceded in death by her father, Metra Bates. The Rev. Samuel Richardson will conduct the funeral Thursday at Gordon-Richardson Temple of Deliverance COGIC, Amite, at 7:30 p.m. Dismissal will be Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Gordon Chapel Cemetery, Amite.
