He was a native of Donaldsonville, born to Lawrence J. "Buddy" and Nevil Gonzalas Noel on March 19, 1957. David had a love of life and sense of humor that will be greatly missed by all his family and numerous friends. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Catherine Timothy Noel and their children, Elizabeth "Grace" Noel and Timothy Lawrence Noel. He is also survived by his father, Lawrence J. Noel III, of Donaldsonville; sister, Janet N. Tuxhorn and husband Jack, of Lake Conroe, Texas; three brothers, Allen T. "Tommy" Noel and wife Melissa, of Donaldsonville, Lawrence J. Noel IV, of Denham Springs, and Chris C. Noel, of Conroe; and two nephews, Matthew Thomas and Brandon Michael Noel, both of Baton Rouge. The beloved son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Timothy Jr., of Covington, David was brother-in-law to Elizabeth M. Timothy, of Pensacola, Fla., Richard C. III, of Houston, J. Gregory, of Ponchatoula, and Patrick N. Timothy, of Covington. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nevil Gonzalas Noel; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence J. Noel Jr.; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Thomas Gonzalas. Visitation at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, on Monday, Feb. 8, from 10 a.m. until a Funeral Mass at noon. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington will immediately follow Mass. She had recently celebrated her 90th birthday happily in the company of her children and other family members. The daughter of James Laurence Conerly and Allie Raford Mitchell Conerly, she was born in Picayune, Miss., and spent many years in Hammond before making her home in Baton Rouge. She retired from BellSouth after 30 years of service. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Leon Noel; her parents, her brother, Laurence Ray Conerly; and her sister, Hazel Conerly Traw. She is survived by her son, Thomas Noel Jr., of San Diego; her daughter, Yvonne Noel Mayes, of Baton Rouge; as well as her late husband's sister, Jane Noel Witt, and his brother, Pat Noel, both of Texas.
