He was a native and resident of Hammond, served in the Louisiana National Guard and was a member of the Hungarian- Presbyterian Church in Albany. Survivors include a daughter, Amy Christy of Tickfaw; a son, Anthony Joseph "Tony" Nuccio Jr. of Independence; a stepdaughter, Brenda Trapen of Husser; a stepson, Arthur Ray Shelton of Pumpkin Center; a sister, Erma Calamia of Independence; six grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Nuccio, and a step-grandson. Visitation will be at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral at 10:30. VICARISE MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - Bessie F. Vicarise Nuccio, 85, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000. A native of Hammond, she was a former employee of Gene's Catering and the Pig Restaurant in Hammond, Ind. Sam M. Nuccio passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the age of 84. Born in Hammond, Louisiana, he was a fifty year resident of Jefferson Parish. He is survived by his son Kerry and daughter-in-law Catherine, sister Josephine Pepitone, brother, Joe Nuccio, dear friend Sara Boada, sisters-in-law Rose Pecoraro, Rosemarie Vining, and Audrey Nuccio and brother-in law Alden Vining, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Lena A. Nuccio, brothers, Charles and Mike Nuccio and sisters Mary Juneau and Carmelite Marsiglia. He served honorably in World War II in the US Army and retired from ABF Freight Systems in Jefferson, Louisiana. A parishioner for many years of St. Mary Magdalene, he was a member of the Golden Agers and Jefferson Parish chapter of AARP. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
