Althea was born in New Orleans November 13, 1915. She is survived by her sons: H. Michael Ulrich III and wife Lurline of Biloxi, MS and E. Allen Ulrich and wife Diane of River Ridge; daughters: Sharen U. Wilson and husband Dixon of Vicksburg, MS and Judy U Planetta and husband James of Ponchatoula, LA; a sister Rita Nodier Smith. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and eight great- great grandchildren. Althea was preceded in death by her husbands Henry M. "Chic" Ulrich and Richard O'Callaghan; her daughter Dianne Ulrich Waguespack; her parents Mamie Schifferstein D'Aquin Gardner and Sidney Albert DÕAquin; one brother and three sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and Funeral Mass at St. Edward the Confessor, 4921 West Metairie Avenue on Friday, November 18, 2011. The visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A Mass will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM. Interment in Cypress Grove Cemetery. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of the Richard Murphy Hospice House of Hammond and the caregivers of North Oaks Hospice.
