He was born Jan. 13, 1925, in New Orleans, son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Bickford Offner. He was retired from Boh Bros. Construction Co., a member of First Baptist Church, Denham Springs, and U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Faye Carter Offner; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debbie Levy Offner; two granddaughters, Trudy Barnett and Allison Offner; a grandson, Brent Offner; and two great-grandchildren, Henry and Kate Barnett. He was preceded in death by three siblings, John, Edith and Katie Offner. Friends will be received Sunday, Jan. 21, at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond from 10:30 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral home chapel service, conducted by Dr. Rodney Taylor. Interment will follow in the Gatlin Cemetery. She was born on Dec. 9, 1933, daughter of the late Sam and Grace Carter. She was the beloved wife of the late Brent Joseph Offner. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debbie Levy Offner; three grandchildren, Trudy Barnett, Brent and Allison Offner; and two great-grandchildren, Henry and Kate Barnett. She was preceded in death by six siblings. Friends will be received Monday, Jan. 21, at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond from noon until the 2 p.m. chapel service conducted by Dr. Rodney Taylor. Interment will follow in the Gatlin Cemetery.
