"HANK-O" A retired sheet metal worker with Local 21 and resident of Baton Rouge, he died Thursday morning, Oct. 14, 2010, at Oschner Hospital. He was 84, an Army medic in World War II and a native of Independence. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Sunday, Oct. 17, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Moroney. He is survived by his wife, Hattie Lillie Ognibene; two daughters, Theresa Ognibene and Francine Ognibene; a son, Henry Ognibene Jr. and wife Ginny; a sister, Frances Margo; three grandchildren, Jamie Johnson and husband Michael, Daniel Bourgeois and Leslie Bourgeois; and a great-grandchild, Gabby Johnson. He is also survived by longtime companion, Ann Brisendine, and her daughters, JoAnn Carpenter and husband Ronald, and Teri Jones and husband Frank. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Theresa Ognibene; and sisters, Josephine Ognibene and Lena Ognibene Perez.
