He was a native of Loranger, and retired after 25 years of serving as manager of the Environmental Health Department in Sacramento. He is survived by his wife, Florence Overmier, a native of Loranger; four sons, Carl, Clifford, Charles and Clyde; one daughter, Peggie Goehring; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, George Overmier of Robert; and one sister, Gladys Kelley of Loranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glide and Mae Overmier; one brother, Gary Overmier; and one sister, Annabelle Buchanan. He was 81, born Sept. 20, 1918, in Wells County, Ind. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served his country in World War II.
