She was a graduate of Bolton High School and H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan W. Walker and Genevieve James Walker; and sisters, Frances Hall, Mary Lou Galloway and Martha Annis Horn. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Borron J. Owen Sr. of Boyce; sons, Borron J. Owen Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Trenton W. Owen of Alexandria, and Stephen R. Owen of Boyce; daughters, Genevieve Owen LaBorde of Alexandria and Julia Owen Layfield of Baton Rouge; brothers, Morgan W. "Manny" Walker of Covington and Edgar Walker of Tickfaw; and 13 grandchildren.
