W., II First Lt. Charles B.W. Palmer II, a loving husband, father and brother, went peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, the 20th day of September 2011, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital having reached the age of 83 on June 10, 2011. He was born in Amite to Maj. Charles B.W. Palmer and Maud Ellis Palmer, who both preceded him in death. He went to grammar school in La Lima, Honduras, and in Amite. He also attended high school in Amite, the teacher's training school at Southeastern Louisiana College and Sewanee Military Academy. He then earned an LLB law degree from LSU Law School. Charles B.W. then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served with honor for 4 years during which he married his surviving devoted wife and welcomed his beloved son to their home. After this, he returned to live in Amite and practiced law for more than 50 years. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rina Marshall Palmer, Amite; son, Charles B.W. Palmer III, Amite; two brothers, Robert E. Palmer, Ponchatoula and Everard Digby Palmer and wife Lois, Fernwood, Miss.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Lieutenant Palmer was a devout communicant at the Church of the Incarnation of the Episcopal Diocese of Easter to which church gifts in memory of Charles B.W. Palmer II are requested by the family. He was 74 and born on April 28, 1932 in New Orleans to Nehemiah Elijah and Ruvie Watts Palmer, both of Livingston Parish. He lived a rich, full life enjoying his work in his shop and restoring old trucks. But, he will be remembered most for his mischievous schoolboy charm that brought endless laughs to all those around him. Jerrie retired after 35 years of employment as a Survey Forman with Louisiana Power & Light Company (ENTERGY). He was a member of French Corner Baptist Church in Ponchatoula. He will be sadly missed by his surviving wife of 54 years, Shirley Mitchell Palmer, his five sons and their wives, J.C. and Patsy Palmer of Maurepas, Louisiana, Robert and Jamie Palmer of Houston, Texas, Jerrie W. and Pam Palmer of Bakersfield, California, Roy and Phyllis Palmer of Pope, Mississippi and Jimmy and Carol Palmer of Springfield, Louisiana. His love for his grandchildren will always be remembered in their hearts, they are Heather, Justin, Katie, Nathan, Aaron, Austin, Hollie and Marybeth. He was also blessed to have seven great-grandchildren, Dylan, Katie, Justin, Jackie, David, Eyce and Blaize. She felt her children were her greatest personal achievement. She resided in Amite, Ponchatoula, and finally, Hammond, through the course of her life. Linda was a talented vocalist and pianist, enjoyed music, gardening and reading and had a keen sense of humor. Linda is survived by her former husband, Robert Ellis Palmer, Ponchatoula; their four daughters, Caroline Weber, Charlottesville, Va., Maria Palmer, Amite, Julie Trevino, Chino Hills, Calif., and Alyssa Bowser, Norfolk, Va.; and seven grandchildren, Ian and Dylan Weber, Adriana and Gabrielle Trevino, Annelise, Andrew and Laird Bowser.
