She is survived by one son, J. Donald Palmintier; one brother, Thomas Brocato of Hammond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Palmintier, one brother, Vincent Brocato; three sisters, Cena Brocato Genovese, Lucille Ranzino and Mary Brocato Sullivan; and one grandchild. Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey, was in charge, and burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wynhoven Nursing Home. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 11/5/2001 PALMINTIER, DOMINIC J. SR. Lafayette - Dr. Dominic J. Palmintier Sr., 79, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at his home after an extended illness. He was a native of Hammond, served as captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1947-1950, was a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine and interned at Charity Hospital in New Orleans in 1946, did his surgery residency at LSU - New Orleans and Lafayette Charity Hospital. He was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady Of Fatima Catholic Church. He was a prominent surgeon for more than 50 years with numerous accomplishments, held many positions and was a member of several professional and civic organizations. He is survived by his wife, Betty Brownsberger Palmintier; one daughter, Patricia P. Pritchard; five sons, Jon Stephen Palmintier, Michael C. Palmintier, David J. Palmintier and James P. Palmintier; five sisters, Mary Alack, Augustine Lobue, JoAnn Peco, Mary Ann Masaracchia and Katharine DePaula; 13 grand- children and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Palmintier and Giavanna Signorelli; and four brothers brothers, Vincent, Joseph, Johnny and Frank Palmintier. Visitation will be today from 4 to 10 p.m. at Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Lafayette, with a rosary at 8. Visitation will continue Tuesday after 8 a.m. until Glen Provost conducts the funeral 11. Burial will be in Fountain Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnson St., Suite 200, Lafayette 70508. ***************************************************************************
