A retired employee with the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, she died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Collins, Miss. Visiting at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, Collins, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday. Religious service at Willow Grove Baptist Church, Collins, at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Shoemake. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by her husband, William E. Dunn; two daughters, Marie Elizabeth Coon and husband Roger D. Coon Sr., Kentwood, and Candy Annette Crumholt and husband Gary, Port Vincent; two stepdaughters, Lea Hood, Orlando, Fla., and Kathy and husband Charlie McCray, Walker; one son, Charles Hollis Parson and wife Karen Parson, Baton Rouge; three stepsons, William Jr. and Carol Dunn, Fayetteville, Ark., Tim Dunn, Baton Rouge, and David and Cindy Dunn, Jackson, Miss.; three sisters, Mae Belle McQueen, Collins, Hilda Pickett, Petal, Miss., and Merle Speed, Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, Wesley Knight, Collins, and Henry Knight, Victorville, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Hollis W. Parson; mother and father, Julia Ann Sanford Knight and Albert E. Knight; and brothers, Chesley C., Amos A., Jim T., Leonard E. and Halley B. Knight. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Mary Brisco for her longtime care for Ms. Wilda and her loyalty.
