Joseph P. Patti, 61, a native and resident of Hammond, died Sunday at Westpark Community Hospital. Dominican Fathers conducted the funeral this morning at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Burial was in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, Hammond, was in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Marsiglia Patti; his mother, Lena Patti; three daughters, Mrs. Nat (Elaine) Mercante and JoAnn Patti, both of Hammond, and Mrs. Wade (Liz) Mitchell, Holden; two sons, Joe and Vincent Patti, both of Hammond; a brother, Frank Patti, Belle Chasse; and five grandchildren. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 2/19/2006 PATTI, LENA VALENTI Lena Valenti Patti, a retired self-employed, seamstress, passed away at 8:55 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2006 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana. She was 98 year old, born Thursday, May 16, 1907 in Hammond, a lifelong Hammond resident, and a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Cecelia Valenti; wife of the late Jake Patti; beloved mother of Dr. Frank J. Patti and the late Joseph and Peter Patti; mother-in-law to Rose Marsiglia Patti and Elizabeth Marsiglia Patti; sister of the late Annie Nero, Frances Greco, Mary Scardino, Sam, Frank, Nunzio and Joseph Valenti. Also survived by grandchildren, Frank Patti, Jr., Elaine Mercante, Joseph and Vincent Patti, JoAnn Ziebarth and Elizabeth Mitchell, their spouses, and great-grand- children, Michael and Megan Mercante, Jessica, Justin, Jake and Lauren Patti, Mandi and Mathew Mitchell, and countlesses and nephews. Relatives and friends of the family will be received on Monday, February 20, 2006 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond from 9:15 a.m. until 1 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. with Fr. John Restrepo, O.P., celebrant. Interment will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Hammond.
