She is survived by one son, Marcel "Bucky" Paul of Baton Rouge; one sister, Clelie Ducros Maier of Houston; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was born on Sunday, Oct. 1, 1939, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. In her life's journey, she raised three children, worked at the YMCA, developed her artistic talents in oil painting, water color, bonsai cultivation, and landscaping. Jackie is survived by her husband, Charles O. Paul; two sons, James W. Paul III and Charles O. Paul II; and sister-in-law Joyce Paul Perrin. Also surviving are son-in-law, Ronnie Lewis Gibbons; grandsons Ronnie Loren Gibbons and Brandon Hudson; and great grandchildren Kyle and Hannah Gibbons, and Kaleigh and Joshua Hubbard. She is preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Arnold Scruggs; brother, Doyle Scruggs; daughter, Sheila Ann Gibbons; and granddaughter, Heather Joy Hubbard. Jackie was laid to rest Jan. 7, 2013, in Ponchatoula Cemetery. A private graveside service was conducted by the Rev. Mike McLaurin of Ponchatoula First United Methodist Church.
