She was a retired State of Louisiana telecommunications operator with over 25 years service. Mae was a native of Amite and a resident of Baton Rouge. She died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at The Baton Rouge General- Bluebonnet. She was 78. Visitation will be at St. George Catholic Church Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Schatzle and assisted by Deacon Albert Ellis. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Pecue Kelly & husband Robert, Mary Pecue Woodward; sons: Henry F. Pecue Jr. & wife Susan, Lawrence "Larry" P. Pecue; step-daughter: June Ann Miller; two sisters: Tresa Ponder and Maxine Soileau & husband John; brother: Carlton Miller & wife Marilyn; six grandchildren: Henry Pecue III & wife Betty, Michael Pecue, Wayne Kelly, Christopher Kelly, Amanda Averett & husband Ryan, Lawrence "Tuttor" Pecue; three step- granddaughters: Lezli Hake, d'Anne Finn Weaver and Billie Jean Miller; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews. Mae was preceded in death by her husband: Henry F. Pecue, Sr.; her parents: Marshall & Dora Bennett Miller; two grandsons: Benjamin and Cody Woodward; great-grandson: Henry F. Pecue IV; two sisters: Elsie Nell Sharkey Walker and Lucy Lee Miller. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and her nephews. Mae was a member of St. George Catholic Church; numerous "Bourre" clubs and graduate of Woodland High School of Hillsdale. She enjoyed traveling around the country with family, taking trips to casinos and watching LSU sports. Mae was a great cook and loved sharing a good meal with family and friends who looked forward to her rolls. The family would like to thank Dr. Vince Cataldo & his staff, the nurses & staff of 4th Floor Oncology of Baton Rouge General-Bluebonnet, and Feliciana Home Health for their loving care.
