Edward "Eddie" J. Peltier, 84, of Ponchatoula, died Monday, June 27, 2011, at his residence. He was born Tuesday, April 19, 1927, in Ponchatoula. Mr. Peltier served in the Navy. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Carla Peltier; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Ricky Miller; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph "J.C." Peltier; five sisters, Nettie Watts, Florence Peltier, Madeline Thibodeaux, Enola DeGruy and Anna Mae Mixon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Anna Legendre and Felix Peltier; three brothers, Emmett "Blue" Peltier, Howard Peltier and Ernest Joseph Peltier; and three sisters, Ethel Adams, Lillian Perque, and Pearl Gros. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge was held on Saturday, February 20 from 12 Noon until the religious service at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Deacon Brent Duplessis. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Peltier Morrison and husband William; 2 sons, James Hilton Peltier, Sr. and wife Betty and Raymond Paul Peltier and wife Donna Susan; 14 grandchildren, James Peltier, Jr., Robert Peltier, Jacques Peltier, Rene Miranda, Andrea Miranda, Mary Agnes Simons, Webb Miranda, Deanna Yablonsky, Nuria Nelkin, Joseph Peltier, Boyd, Aaron, Patrick and James Morrison and 21 great-grandchildren. Twin Lakes, Wis. -- Burial was Monday for Howard J. Peltier, 87, who died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at his home. Born in St. James, he served in the U.S. Army as a private first class. He served overseas in Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He worked for 35 years in a tool and die setup for American Motors, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Twin Lakes, Twin Lakes American Legionst Commander's Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was an active committeeman of the Boy Scouts and was a Boy Scout leader. He was also active in the Babe Ruth League and Little League. Survivors include three sons, Leonard Peltier of Texas, Randy Peltier of Kokomo, Ind., and Brian Peltier of Nixa, Mo.; three daughters, Lucille Odom of Ponchatoula, Annette Lindberg of McKinney, Texas, and Renee Petranech of Lilly Lake; three brothers, Edward and Ernest Peltier, both of Ponchatoula, and Joseph "J.C." Peltier of Natchitoches; seven sisters, Lillian Perque and Pearl Gross, both of Thibodeaux, Nellie Watts, Florence Peltier, Madeline Thibodeaux, Enola DeGruy and Anna Mae Mixon, all of Ponchatoula; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His parents, Felix and Annette Borne Peltier; his brother, Emmette; one sister, Ethel Adams; and one grandchild, preceded him in death. She was born on December 12, 1927, in Sherman, Texas, daughter of the late Henry Clark and Ollie Clark Cummings. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all the children she kept in her child care as "Momsy". Surviving are her son, Ernest Glenn Peltier, grandchildren, Lynette Peltier, Wade Peltier, 3 great-grandchildren, Jenna, Tyler, and Rebekah, and 2 sisters, Gladys Hayden, and Clara Forrest. She is preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Ernest Joseph Peltier, sister, Oleta Clark, and 2 brothers, Clifford and Floyd Clark.
