Born 17 Oct 1899 in New Orleans; married Sylvester C. Pendarvis 22 Dec 1920. Survived by parents, Mr. and Mrs. James B. Babington; one sister, Mrs. Maurice Galliand, Jr. of New Orleans; one brother, James P. Babington of New Orleans; two sons and one daughter. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 4/3/2009 PENDARVIS, SHAUN PATON A lifelong resident of the Albany-Springfield area and a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, Shaun Paton Pendarvis, 27, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at University of Alabama-Birmingham Hospital. Shaun was a graduate of Albany High School, where he participated as a varsity baseball and basketball player. He obtained his bachelor of arts degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. Shaun was known for his creativity, which he portrayed in his job as a graphic designer, and his love for nature was immeasurable as seen in his freelance photography. He is survived by his devoted mother, Cindy Tullier Pendarvis, of Albany; father, Murray Paton Pendarvis, of Walker; two brothers, Chad Barrett Pendarvis and Bryan Murray Pendarvis, both of Albany; and maternal grandparents, Vernell and J.R. Tullier, of St. Amant. He also leaves behind his soul mate, Samantha Achee, of Central; a very special "Nana" Essie Kinchen and Uncle Jerry Kinchen; godmother; Aunt Trudy Huguet, of Alabama; godfather, Barry Ferguson, of Hammond; aunts, Sondra Broussard, Darlene Taranto and Pam Melancon; and special uncle, Mike Hinson. He is also survived by numerous other uncles, cousins and close friends. Preceding Shaun in death were his paternal grandparents, Norma (Schenck) and Hugh Murray Pendarvis. Pallbearers for Shaun will be a few of his close friends. They are Billy Scallions, Joshua Olah, Dustin Bankston, Justin Huguet, Michael Taranto, Josh Stewart, Todd Williams, Chad Mondebello, Alex Placzek, John Broussard and Jesse Brooks. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Saturday, April 4, at 10 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Friday, April 3, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Officiating the services will be the Rev. Charles Brumfield and the Rev. Joseph Arogyasami. Interment in Carter Cemetery.
