Nancy was born on February 20, 1934, in Bonham, Texas to George Willard and Lela Reid Pendergrass. Nancy moved to Baton Rouge, LA in 1957 where she and former husband, Wallace George Nesbit Jr. raised a family in University Acres. Nancy was a witty, energetic person with a wonderful sense of humor. Nancy could always find something to laugh at and became a good friend to many, even though she suffered many illnesses during her life. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents George and Lela Pendergrass of Wylie, Texas, and Wallace George Nesbit, Jr. Nancy is survived by her brother, John Scott Pendergrass and wife Betty, four children, Wallace George Nesbit III, Scott Peterson Nesbit and wife Michelle Odom Nesbit, Cynthia Nesbit Joseph and husband Allen Stewart Joseph, and Amy Elizabeth Nesbit. Also nine grandchildren, Nicholas Clesi Nesbit, Wallace George Nesbit IV and wife Melissa, Michael Richard Brassett and wife Lindsay, Kristin Michelle Brassett, Noel Nesbit Brassett, Callie Nesbit Gorman, Courtney Sinclair Gorman, Andrew Scott Nesbit and Aimee Camille Nesbit. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kentwood, LA on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 10:00 am celebrated by Fr. Mark Beard. The family of Nancy would like to offer their sincerest thanks to the wonderful staff and residents of Kentwood Manor Nursing home for all the love and kindness they showed Nancy for the last three years of her residence.
