Greenfield, Ind. - James W. Penman, 76, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at Brandywine Beverly Healthcare. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army having served in the European Theater during World War II. He was a retired insurance worker with USF & G Life Insurance and a member of the American Legion in Brazil, Ind. He is survived by one son, James M. Penman of Indianapolis; two daughters, Stacey A. Mitchell and Amy J. Reel, both of Greenfield; one brother, Richard Penman of Brazil; one sister, Luella Butler of Brazil; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers. The Rev. David Woods will conduct the funeral Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary, Greenfield, and burial will be at a later date in Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association. ***************************************************************************
