PETERSEN, WILLIAM E. 
Willowick, Ohio - U.S. Army veteran and World War II veteran William E. Petersen, 
53, died. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne "Nee" Lafontaine Petersen; four 
daughters, Mary Junk, Ann Golden, Patricia Gideon and Susan Connolly; five sons, 
Michael, Thomas, Robert, William and John Petersen; 20 grandchildren and one 
great-grandchild; and two sisters, Claire Acitelli and Harriet Sims. He was 
preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marguerite Petersen; and one brother, 
Guy Petersen. Burial was Tuesday at Souls Cemetery, Willowick, Ohio. Donations 
may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor, Ohio 
44060.

PETERSEN, WILLIAM JOHN, SR. 

A native of Chicago and resident of Hammond, he died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at 
North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 77. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. 
Sunday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond. He is survived by one son, 
William J. Peterson Jr., Hammond; and two grandchildren, William J. Peterson III 
and Tara J. Peterson, both of Hammond. He was preceded in death by his wife, 
Margaret Ida Peterson. He was a long-time resident of Salem, Ore., and life member 
of the Elks Club. He also was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Salem.
