She was 92 and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Friday, Feb. 13, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at Oak Grove Church of God, Loranger, on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by Michael Williamson, pastor. Burial at Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery, Loranger. Survived by her daughter, Nancy Pickett Plank and husband, Ron, of Denham Springs; son, Michael Phillip Pickett, of Southgate, Mich.; sister, Clotilde Forbes, of Mandeville; grandchildren, Christopher Plank, of Walker, Gregory Plank, of Weaverville, N.C., Steven Plank, of Birmingham, Ala., Julie Plank-Coniglio, of Denham Springs, Nicole Pickett, of Lima, Ohio, Tom Pickett, of Riverview, Mich., and Sarah Pickett, of Northville, Mich.; great- grandchildren, Shaun, Madison, Brooke, Austin, Nathan, Daniel, Emma, and Michael. Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Adair Pickett; parents, Robert James and Elma Chloe Williamson Forbes; sister, Audrey Carver; brothers, Carroll Forbes and Robert Forbes; and great-granddaughter, Lucy. She was 22, a resident of Lufkin, Texas, and Summit, Miss. She was born Oct. 11, 1988, in Baton Rouge. She was a graduate of Sumner High School, where she was in the gifted music program and was a Sumner Jewelette. She also attended Angelina Community College in Lufkin. Laura touched the hearts of all who knew her and had many artistic talents besides her music. Her compassion and love will remain with all whom she touched. Taken from this world all too soon, we will join her in heaven some day. She is survived by a daughter, Adalee Katherine Pickett; son, Smith King Pickett; stepdaughters, Elizabeth Riley Pickett and Hannah Taylor Pickett; brother, Christopher Mitchell Ham; sisters, Jessica Danielle Campbell and Katherine Ann Foret and her husband, Benjamin; mother, Amy "Wendy" Morris; daddy, Mike Morris; father, David Ballard; stepbrother, Jamie Morris; stepsister, Jenna Morris; grandparents, Louviena and Curley Ballard; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
