PIGNO, MRS. FRANCES
Mrs. Frances Pigno, 71, died late October in Tickfaw.  Funeral in Tickfaw;
interment in Tickfaw Cemetery.  A native of Cimena, Sicily; came to U.S. in
1903 with her husband and six children; lived in Tangipahoa parish for the
past 21 years.  Survived by four daughters, Mrs. Christine Calvaruso of
Plaquemine, Mrs. Victoria Restivo of Tickfaw, Mrs. Joseph DiMaggio of
Tickfaw and Mrs. Pauline Sirchia of Independence; two sons, Sam M. Martin
of Hammond and Sam Pigno of Tickfaw.

PIGNO, SAM, SR. 

A native and resident of Tickfaw, he died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at North 
Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 96. Visitation at Our Lady of Pompeii 
Catholic Church, Tickfaw, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 
a.m. Friday, conducted by a Dominican priest. Entombment in Tickfaw Mausoleum. 
Survived by a son, Sam J. Pigno Jr., Tickfaw; five grandchildren and a 
great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, Louise Greco Pigno; a son, 
Frank Pigno; a grandson,Brian Fedele; a brother, Sam Marten; and four sisters, 
Vita Restivo, Pauline Sirchia, Christine Calvaruso and Josephine DiMaggio. 
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, in charge of arrangements.

PIGNO, SUE ANN SAMPERE 
Sue Ann Sampere Pigno, a former Tangipahoa Parish School Board employee and
wife of former Tangipahoa Parish School Superintendent Sam J. Pigno, died
Monday, Jan. 3, 2005. She was 71, a native of Independence and a resident
of Tickfaw. She is survived by her husband, Sam J. Pigno; two daughters,
Cindy Ann Fedele and Linda Marie Pigno; two grandchildren, Krystle Fedele
and Brandon Carter; and two sisters, Connie Smith of Zachary and Mary Ann
Accardo of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe
Sampere; mother, Odile Langlois Sampere Inzinna; and a grandson, Brian
Fedele. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, and from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday,
Jan. 6. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Tickfaw, at 
10 a.m. Thursday. Interment in church cemetery.
