She was born Feb. 11, 1911, in Franklin, and was a lifelong resident of Hammond. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for 34 years. She is survived by four daughters, Rose Dorsa and husband Sam, of Metairie, Josie DePaula and husband Joe, of Denham Springs, and Mary Grace Ferrara and husband John, and Diane Correjolles and husband Jerry, all of Hammond; a son, Patrick Pitarro and wife Sheila, of Hammond; 14 grandchildren, Jeff and Brian Dorsa, Joe and Michael DePaula, Lisa DePaula Russell, Sharon DePaula Anderson, Denise, David and Daryl Ferrara, Terri Ferrara Morrison, Janelle Correjolles Allen, Kevin Correjolles, Brad and Scott Pitarro; 14 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Stephen, Autumn, and Kirsten Dorsa, Sean and Brett Morrison, Austin, Avery, and Allie Ferrara, Will and Connor Allen, Jordyn Correjolles and Ava and Rhett Pitarro. Also survived by sisters, Phine Calderone, of Tickfaw, Carmelia Leimkuhler, of Kenner, Grace Johnson, of Lowell, Ind., and Carolyn Matovina, of Hammond, Ind. Preceded in death by her husband, Sam Pitarro; parents, Mariano and Josephine Citrano Vicarise; sisters, Mamie Pisciotta, Bessie Nuccio, Lucy Puma, Christine Pitarro, Sarah Calabrese, Rosie Puccio, Josephine Parrino and Angelina Margo; and brothers, Tony Vicarise, Joe and Sam Papa. Visitation at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, on Tuesday, July 7, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Cayet Mangiaracina, O.P., celebrant.
