A resident of Hammond, he died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was 74 and a native of Independence. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and in the chapel from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Friday. Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum. Survived by his wife, Bertha Garon Polisso of Hammond; three sons, Nick Polisso Jr. of Hammond, Charles Polisso of Lake of Pines, Calif., and Thomas Polisso of Lynchburg, Va.; three sisters, Ella Margarita of Lake of Pines, Mary Margarita of Auburn, Calif., and Phine Picarello of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Anthony Polisso of San Jose; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Lena Santangelo Polisso. Mr. Polisso was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He was the owner of A&B Auto Salvage and Granny's Restaurant of Hammond. ***************************************************************************
