Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by Deacon Wallace Gainey. Interment in Rose Memorial Cemetery. Johnny B. Pomares, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. A native of Hammond, LA and a well-known barber for over 46 years in the city of Baton Rouge, LA. For the last 25 years, he used his barber chair as a pulpit to educate others about the Kingdom of God. Survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Camellia E. Pomares; daughters, Melissa Bahlinger and husband Rus, and Ashley Pomares; son, Johnny B. Pomares, III; grandchildren, Blake Anderson, Brooke Anderson, Peyton Bahlinger, Gracie Bahlinger, Joshua Pomares, Jacob Pomares, Masyn Winningham, Bella Winningham, Skylar Landry, MacKenzie Causin, Andrew Cuasin, Meredith Price and Ryleigh Price; stepson, Derek A. Causin and wife Amanda; and siblings, Pete Pomares and wife Dee, Marie Ramirez and husband Bobby, Angelina Rakocy and husband Rocky, Jimmy Pomares and wife Audrey, Connie Russell and husband Mike, Jessica Fisher and husband Dennis, and Joe Pomares. He was born on March 28, 1924, in Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Pomares was a World War II veteran who served his country in combat in Italy and was wounded. Survived by his four sons, Pete Pomares and wife Dee, Johnny Pomares and wife Camellia, Jimmy Pomares and wife Audrey, and Joseph Pomares; five daughters, Marie Ramirez and husband Bobby, Angelina "Nina" Rakocy and husband Rocky, Connie Pomares, and Jessica Pomares; 15 grandsons; 19 granddaughters; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; stepdaughter, Marquerite Watkins and husband Harry; and three stepsons, John Moore and wife Debbie, Lester Moore and Michael Moore.
