POPULUS, BEATRICE CUTRER
A resident of Independence, she died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at North Oaks
Medical Center, Hammond. She was 79 and a native of Ponchatoula. Visitation
was at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Wednesday. Visitation at the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until
religious services at 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment in Killian Chapel 
Cemetery. Survived by three daughters, Joyce Shelton, Baton Rouge, and
Linda Greer and Patsy Dupree, both of Independence; two sons, Calvin
Populus, Independence, and Terry Populus, Denham Springs; a brother, George
Cutrer, Livingston; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Preceded
in death by her husband, Preston Populus; a son, Michael Populus; parents,
John and Mary Bennett Cutrer; three sisters, Eula Smith, Alsadie Gill and 
Deannie Stubbs; and a brother, Ivy Cutrer. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to Mount Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 35031
La. 43, Independence, LA 70443.

POPULUS, EDGAR E.
A resident and native of Loranger, he died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at his
residence. He was 82. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting
at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday,
with a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home, 
8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Monday. Religious services at St. Dominic Catholic 
Church, Husser, at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Dean Martin.
Entombment in St. Dominic Mausoleum, with an American Legion graveside
service. Survived by wife, Estelle Slade Populus, Loranger; four grand-
children and nine great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Fines Populus,
Loranger, Fener Baham, Lacombe, Jennie Lewis, Loranger, Eunice Muscarello, 
New Orleans, and Arlene Creel, Franklinton.  Preceded in death by a
stepson, Ray Bahm; a sister, Olivette Baham; a brother, Preston Populus;
two half-brothers, McKinley and Matthew Baham; and parents, Louis and Vicey
Reid Populus. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 255, Loranger.

POPULUS, FINES LILY
Fines Lily Populus, 98, a dairy farmer of Loranger died Sunday, February 4,
2007 at her residence.  She was born July 11, 1908 in Husser, daughter of
the late Louie and Vicy Reid Populus.  Surviving are her son, Charles
"Jesse" A. Populus; sister, Eunice Muscarello; daughter-in-law, Susan
McManes Populus; seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a
host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by four sisters,
Fener Baham, Jennie Lewis, Olivet Baham, and Arlean Creel; three brothers,
Garfield, Edgar, and Preston Populus.  Friends will be received Thursday,
February 8, 2007 at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond from 11 a.m. until the
2 p.m. Funeral Home Chapel Service, conducted by Rev. Gerald Brinkley.
Interment will follow in the Noah Cemetery.  Email condolences to:
